PALEMBANG,SuaraSumselNews- ERA baru dalam sistem pembayaran di Indonesia, resmi dilaksanakan. Hal ini seiring dengan launching Gerbang Pembayaran Nasional (GPN) secara serentak di 17 Kantor Perwakilan Bank Indonesia di seluruh Indonesia, Minggu kemarin (29/7).
Termasuk di Kota Palembang, kampanye gerbang pembayaran nasional dipusatkan di Kawasan Kambang Iwak. Kepala Perwakilan Bank Indonesia (BI) Wilayah Sumatera Selatan, Rudi Hairudin, menyebutkan untuk wujudkan sistem pembayaran nasional yang lancar, aman, efisien, handal dan serta terintegrasi, diperlukan mekanisme sistem pembayaran nasional. Khusus dalam satu tatanan yang memproses seluruh transaksi pembayaran ritel domestik.
“Gerbang pembayaran nasional ini menghubungkan seluruh kanal elektronik transaksi non tunai pada semua instrumen bank pada sisi pembayaran,” terang Rudi.
Sebelumnya, lanjut Rudi, kartu ATM atau kartu debit hanya dapat diproses pembayaran pada bank yang bersakutan. “Namun pada kartu ATM yang berlogo GPN, akan dapat digunakan pada seluruh kanal transaksi elektronik pada bank yang ada di Indonesia. Dan biayanya lebih murah,” katanya.
Dijelaskan, berdasarkan data Bank Indonesia bahwa akumulasi frekuensi transaksi menggunakan kartu ATM atau debit dari Januari – Juni 2018, sebesar Rp 3,1 milyar transaksi. Dimana mengalami kenaikan 0,65% pada periode sebelumnya.
“Selanjutnya dengan populasi 205 juta penduduk Indonesia atau setengah dari populasi seluruh ASEAN, lebih dari 65% penduduk Indonesia berpotensi menjadi pengguna sistem pembayaran ini,” tambah Rudi lagi.
Sementara, Plh Wali Kota Palembang Harobin Mustofa mengapresiasi langkah Bank Indonesia meluncurkan gerbang pembayaran nasional. “Dengan diluncurkannya gerbang pembayaran nasional ini, diharapkan dapat membantu transaksi keuangan pemerintah, termasuk penyaluran bantuan sosial non tunai, elektrnisasi pembayaran tol, serta transportasi publik lainnya di Kota Palembang,” ujar Harobin.
